Throughout my life I have suffered from chronic health issues. When I was younger, I daydreamed about healing the sick. As the world and I grew I didn’t find the magical ‘cure all’ answer, but I did discover modalities that were helpful over my healing journey.
THE FIRST LESSON
We are all individually unique. One size does not fit all. The clothes you bought might be too baggy in places, yet too tight in others. The elimination diet that works for others may not be the best for you.
A place to start is important but our uniqueness should be seen as a celebration, not a hinderance.
THE SECOND LESSON
The physical, mental and emotional intertwine to make a whole. One would not survive without the other. One may have gone into disrepair first but the other would soon be affected, perhaps they even collapsed at the same time.
THE THIRD LESSON
My mother loved jigsaw puzzles. She would have them on the dining room table for the family to work through. The puzzle took shape as we’d walk by and suddenly see the pieces from a different perspective. Adding a puzzle piece would open up multiple, now seemingly obvious connections, and we would build upon it until there seemed to be none again. When this happened, we’d walk away filled with enjoyment from our progress, however eventually we’d stumble by and spy a new apparent connection, that had previously seemed inconceivable.
The whole picture is made up of smaller pieces.
Those small puzzle pieces are what makes us unique. Having connections with others, will show us different perspectives. They will help build our framework and inner pieces of our puzzle.
We also need time, to connect, create and become comfortable with the overall picture. You can not force a piece to fit, but that doesn’t mean you don’t have the ability to find the piece that does.
After I conquered my own health battles, I became certified in Bowen, EFT and TRE therapies. These modalities were huge pieces in my own healing journey, and I’m so happy I get to help people find their own puzzle pieces.
